Tariff Monitoring

Automatic alerts when duty rates change for HS codes in your catalog. Pro plan and above.

How monitoring works

Dutiable periodically checks the EU TARIC, US HTS, and UK Global Tariff databases for changes to the HS codes in your catalog. When a duty rate changes or a code is amended, an alert is generated and you are notified based on your notification preferences.

Monitoring is personalized — only HS codes from products in your catalog are watched. You will not receive alerts for codes unrelated to your products.

What triggers an alert

duty_changeCritical

A duty rate changed — e.g. from 3.7% to 7.5%. Directly affects your landed cost calculations.

code_changeCritical

The HS code itself was amended. Your existing classifications may need updating.

new_codeMinor

A new subheading was introduced that may be more specific than your current classification.

Alert notifications

Alerts appear in the Monitoring dashboard. You can also configure delivery channels:

Email

Configurable in Settings → Notifications. Options: immediately (each change triggers an email), daily digest, or weekly digest.

Slack (Business plan)

Connect an incoming Slack webhook in Settings → Business Workspace. A message is posted for every critical alert. Use the Send test button to verify the webhook is working before your next tariff change.

REST API (Business plan)

Poll GET /api/v1/alerts to retrieve current alerts and tracked product statuses programmatically.

Monitored products

The Monitoring dashboard shows two things:

Active alerts

Products with recent tariff changes. Each alert shows the market (EU/US/UK), the change type, the old and new duty rate, and when it was detected.

Tracked products

All products in your catalog that have an HS code. Status is either current (no changes detected), changed (alert exists), or review (confidence was below 85% when classified).

Pro plan requirement

Tariff monitoring is available on the Pro plan and above. Free users can classify products and view their catalog, but will not receive alerts. Upgrade from the pricing page or from the Monitoring dashboard when you are ready.
