Classification Notes

Rockwool, glasswool (fibreglass), and stonewool insulation products are classified under 6806.10. The form (loose batts, rigid boards, rolls, blown-in loose fill) does not change the heading. Glass wool used for thermal insulation is 6806.10 — distinct from glass fibre for reinforcement (7019). Expanded polystyrene (EPS) and polyurethane foam insulation boards are Chapter 39 plastics, not 6806. Reflective foil insulation is 7607 (aluminium foil). The R-value or thermal performance specification does not affect HS classification.
