Classification Notes

Fishing rods of all types (spinning, fly fishing, casting, surf, ice fishing) are classified under 9507.10, regardless of material (fibreglass, carbon fibre/graphite, bamboo). Carbon fibre blank rods are still 9507.10 — they do not re-classify as carbon fibre articles (6815). Telescopic travel rods and rod sections are 9507.10. Rod rings and guides are parts under 9507.90. Rod tubes/cases are 4202 or 3923 as protective cases. The fishing line itself is 5910 (transmission/conveyor belts) or the relevant textile heading — not 9507 unless wound onto a reel as a complete fishing outfit.
